PARK(ING) DAY

Neighborhood and Organizations proved their garden creativity during the National Park(ing) Day.

Parrot Cove's Meditation Garden won the "Most Creative" Award - Congratulations to our own Landscape Designer Will Grubbs!

The event was held at the parking lot on Lucerne and J Street and was a huge success. Each neighborhood received 50 oak trees for participating in an effort to replenish the tree canopy diminished through years of hurricanes.



4TH OF JULY RAFT RACE
Friday July 4th, 2008

The yearly raft race on the intracoastal gained another pirate boat from the Parrot Cove Neighborhood. It was the first year we participated, but not the last - watch out other pirates,our raft will be the best and fastest next year !



SECOND ANNUAL GIGANTIC YARD SALE
Saturday, June 7th 2008

  • neighbors were asked to donate items for a yard sale
  • the directors collected, sorted through and priced the items the yard sale was a huge success again and made over 600.- for the neighborhood to have a Block Party
 

 

 



PARROT COVE HOME AND GARDEN TOUR
Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 2pm to 6pm


PARROT COVE AT THE STREET PAINTING FESTIVAL

The Home and Garden Tour Committee sponsered a painting this year at the annual Lake Worth Street Painting Festival.

We were very fortunate to have Richard McCausland visiting from Key West who completed this beautiful chalk painting of two parrots.

The Gigantic Neighborhood Yard Sale

  • neighbors were asked to donate items for a yard sale
  • the directors collected, sorted through and priced the items the yard sale was help June 9, 2007, was a huge success and made over 600.- for the neighborhood to have a Block Party


The Rosenbaum Tree-Give-Away

  • was held first weekend in October of 2006
  • in honor of the late Linda Rosenbaum who was an avid gardener and the organizer of the Parrot Cove Garden Club for a long time. Linda and her husband parished in an airplane crash Thanksgiving of 2005.
  • creator of the idea was Jim Swoope the president of Parrot Cove during 2005
  • the idea was to replenish trees and shrubs lost during the hurricanes by native trees
  • the executor was Phil Weinrich and his wife Ann, both Native Garden Club members
  • donated were $5000.- by the association and 80 Native Trees were bought
